Hael Natural Colour is a ten-acre organic farm and dye studio in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
We grow annual, biennial and perennial dye plants, cut flowers, herbs and vegetables. Born from a desire to reconnect with the land through colour, textiles and art. We started this journey out of curiosity of colour and the problems we saw with food production.
Natural colour has shaped culture for thousands of years. Since the introduction of synthetic colour, we have lost generational knowledge that would have connected us so deeply to our landscape. We want to educate local communities and further afield whilst farming dye plants at scale and carrying on traditions that would otherwise be lost.
Flowers, plants, roots, barks, insects, minerals and the soil - it’s all colour.
The Farm & The Dye Studio
The Farm
At Hael, we grow seasonal, organic vegetables in the heart of Pembrokeshire, supplying fresh produce to our local community.
The Dye Studio
Alongside the farm, we grow and harvest dye plants to create natural colour, which we use in hand-dyed textiles, creative kits, and seasonal workshops.
